“Ever since I can remember I wrote poetry. I wanted to write songs but I didn’t know enough about music. And then during my sophomore year, I was observing a friends recording session and a flash awareness came over me that changed my life. I knew that my place was out there on the sound stage recording music, not sitting in the control booth on the couch, watching.”
This awakening was the catalyst for a decision that dramatically changed Brenda’s life. Acknowledging this awareness and following her inner feelings, Brenda purchased a synthesizer, immersed herself in private music lessons, and seriously began writing music.
Bands were formed, unformed, and reformed as her musical wings began to take flight.
Embryonic, once solidified musical tastes fostered an openness to dabble in every possible musical experience, incorporating myriad styles into the mix. It is precisely because of this eclectic background that her present style of a unique electro–acoustic instrumental fusion, enhanced by a strong melodic presents, came to be.
At UCLA she bolstered her musical skills while studying the psychology of music. There she had the opportunity to study musical perception and its effects on the human psyche. Brenda has found through personal experience and extensive study that creative expression is an essential part of being whole.
A good deal of her life has been encouraging that aspect of music therapy as an integration for the wholeness of being, and to that and she developed a workshop on the topic that she presents in conjunction with performance tours and in – store appearances.
After UCLA she studied classical music and composition at Cal State Northridge.
Brenda chose the title Infiniti Road because it is the path she is on. Witness the fact that since 1982 her license plate has read Infiniti.
Another key to the process of her enlightenment came when she considered stepping out her 10th floor window. That’s when she decided to seek help for her substance abuse. These challenges presented Brenda with the opportunities to surrender into the oneness that is Infiniti. Allowing the experience of Infiniti to permeate herself and the music started her on the Infiniti Road.
“Everything is music. Frequency, form, and energy in harmonic relationships. Although each song has been inspired from intimate and personal experiences, the compositions reflect something hauntingly familiar. It is that something that we yearn for and relate to as a species but can’t quite put her fingers on. As I ride the wave of divine musical inspiration, a transformation takes place. My ears and heart become one.”
