The Gift

This composition began in a dream and hauntingly lured me to the piano before its completion.
With such a soothing and infectious quality, I had never written anything like that before. Compelled to play it over and over again I had the realization that this style of music was a gift from spirit that I was to make my own. That’s when the therapeutic impact awakened into my music.
This song drifts at an unhurried pace, wrapping the listener in a tranquil, contemplative atmosphere. Soft rhythmic elements and airy textures ebb and flow naturally, evoking a feeling of quiet connection and presence. The overall effect is soothing and introspective, inviting a peaceful pause from the outside world.

The Gift (Live/Animated)

From August 5 to September 6, 2021 the City of Beverly Hills and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts sponsored hand painted pianos around the city as part of their “Sing for Hope” initiative.
Each Sing for Hope piano featured a custom design by Los Angeles-based visual artists and appeared at various locations, including Beverly Hills City Hall, Beverly Gardens Park, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Will Rogers Memorial Park, La Cienega Park, and Roxbury Park.
At the end of the project, the pianos were placed in their “forever homes” at deserving schools, hospitals, and communities—Sing for Hope’s signature gesture of generosity.
On September 4th artist/composer Brenda Wilde toured the pianos, performing “The Gift” from her ‘Infinity Road’ album. The subsequent live performances were enhanced with animation depicting her, integrated with high resolution images of the actual piano venues.
